Expanded Bio:

As a professional harpist, Cherith Hendrich has had the privilege of performing throughout East Texas and the surrounding areas of Arkansas and Louisiana. Growing up in a small town in northern Kansas, she helped on the family farm until the age of 8 when her family moved to Texas to join a program called the International ALERT Academy. It was here that her love for music started to grow and she began to play the harp at the age of 10.

Cherith quickly progressed from a lever harp to a pedal harp, moving to more advanced orchestral pieces including various requiems and cantatas. Her favorite was the intricate “Seven Last Words of Christ,” which she performed professionally at the age of 14.  A few years later, she had the rare opportunity to be a featured guest with a European orchestra on tour in the US.  She received top music honors from Kilgore College in 2010.

Since then, she continues to perform for many events, striving to make each occasion special and memorable. Cherith enjoys playing music from all genres and accompanies others frequently on the harp and piano.

Cherith is very grateful to her teachers for their instruction and guidance. Primary among her teachers is Dr. Janel Hector, a graduate of Michigan State University and the principal harpist of the East Texas, Longview, Marshall, Shreveport, Texarkana, and South Arkansas Symphony Orchestras.

Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of her faith (Hebrews 12:2), Cherith desires for her life to bring glory to God. In her free time, she enjoys improvising on the piano, studying the power of artistic communication, introverting with friends and family, and running marathons. Cherith is the oldest of 9 children and currently resides in Big Sandy, TX.
